Invited to Little India by a dearest colleague, Linn. Authentic Indian dinner followed by a tour of her place, which is incidentally just opposite Little India MRT.

Anjappar Restaurant along Race Course Road
We were first served a well-known appetizer – Papadum. One thing to note is that you have to finish this when they first serve it. If you wait too long, it becomes soft and not as crispy.

Siew Mai and Me eagerly waiting for the food
Food was served quite promptly and we quickly tucked into our food…
For the uninitiated, here’s a quick overview of the different dishes:
- Lollipop chicken. The meat at the drum portion is pushed up to one end to simulate a lollipop, hence the name. Simply divine…
- Gobi Manchuria Dry. Cauliflower fried with spices. Very flavourful but both Linn and Siew Mai claims that it’s not as good as that of Annalakshmi.
- Rotti. Healthy version of prata, made of wholewheat.
- Chicken Tikka Masala. Tastes like Butter Chicken Masala. Instead of a strong butter flavour, it’s of a tomato base.
- Bhindi Curry. Lady’s Finger Curry. Great combination with the spices. Can’t stop eating…
- Cheese Naan. Self-explanatory. What can I say, I just love Naan!

According to Linn, Indians do not like to share their food. So, you can see that every dish has a spoon for you to scoop the food onto your own plate.

Personal portion
Anyways, we left with bulging bellies to our next stop – Linn’s abode.
The door was opened to Linn’s precious babies – Neko and Kimchi.
Kimchi is the “hiao” one because she kept posing for the camera.
Check out her fierce look.

Siew Mai the cat lover
Taking photos at Linn’s is a challenge because the house is awash with orange light. All the photos came out with a yellowish tinge. But no fear, there’s always trusty photoshop!
Tried my hand at some effects. I quite like the end results…

Her other cat Neko is the one I insisted on calling Sushi. 1 cat already has korean name, the other should have japanese name mah! LOL.

Neko aka Sushi
My favourite highlight of the night:
‘Neko’ is Japanese for Cat.
