Woohoo! I’m back after a 5-months hiatus.
LOL… didn’t have anything that was super exciting that I HAD to blog about, until now that is.
Remember the new Canon IXUS 860 that I bought for the Sydney-Melbourne trip? I’m glad I bought it because I have many beautiful memories to share now.
I even have a new masthead!!! Cool huh… Panaromic view (with the help of photoshop)
To share more about the trip, I’ve decided to list my top 3 most memorable experiences. There’re just too much stuff to list on a day-to-day basis.
1) 4WD @ the Sand Dunes
One sunny afternoon, 2 Toyota Tarogoes ferrying 11 people were on its way to trying out the popular activity in Ports Stephens, Sydney – Sandboarding. Naturally, I was one of the excited passengers awaiting to get to the destination.
Lousy GPS brought us to a junkyard place which the owner redirected us to “turn in at the next hard road”.
Following the instructions, we did see a hard road coming up. Coupled with a road sign that says “4WD access”. (4WD being 4-wheel drive), we were confidently turning in. That had to be the road that leads us to the 4WD vehicle! Moreover, another car was just in front of us… They had to be going to the same place too.
Before we knew it, this happened:

Front wheels stuck in the sand
Being a team, we pulled together our best resources:

Go Team Go!
We tried our best… but we just sank in deeper… No worries Sing Eu, we’re not blaming you.
HAHAHA, what are the odds of getting stuck in the sand dunes? 6 intelligent beings but none realised that we were driving into a path that only 4WD vehicles can pass through!
Luckily, we were towed out by an actual 4WD vehicle.
Moral of the story – Not all cars with 4 wheels qualify as a 4WD vehicle!!
2) Heatwave in Melbourne
We were “fortunate” to bear witness to the hottest day in Mebourne history.
Melbourne has experienced its hottest day on record of 46.4C which is not only a February record but an all time record surpassing the January 1939 figure of 45.7C. Furthermore, this record has now exceeded all records of any city around Australia.
We were well aware of the extreme weather conditions and had planned to take it easy by visiting the casino. But it’s one thing to know of the situation and another thing to physically experience it.
When the wind blows, it feels like you’re facing a gigantic hair dryer. Breathing in hot air is not a joke!

- It’s not what you think it is!
The girls resorted to hiding behind Wendy’s shawl for what little protection against the harsh weather elements.
We will certainly appreciate Singapore’s weather more!!!
3) Night Alcohol Binges
Haha, this has nothing to do with being in Australia cos you can get high anywhere in the world. But I particularly remember these nights cos everyone was just hilarious. Let me see if I can dig up the videos for these… meanwhile do enjoy the pics.

High high into the sky

Ghim with his pink slippers or is it pink paws?

Pretty Tipsy... (How to look pretty whilst tipsy)
Akan Datang – Photos, photos and more photos…
