Movie Review - Doomsday

This is one of those random, unplanned-for shows that Jams and I caught on Sunday evening. Seems to be watching a ton of movies recently but really, there’s not much else to do in Singapore.

Going into the cinema, I was totally clueless what the show was about although Jams claimed that the trailer came out before. Essentially, it is a mix of “28 days later” and “I am Legend”. Scotland was under a virus attack and to prevent the disease from spreading, the entire country was shut down and barricaded from the rest of the world. The entire Scottish population was supposed to have perished but there were survivors who formed their own tribes.

Gothic Punks vs Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

I was impressed with the goths because it was as if stumbling into a town where everyday was Halloween. Everyone was in some SM outfit - Rwaaar! My favourite character is the Boss’ girl. The tattoo on her face is fierce! I would love to have that tattoo if i ever have a chance to attend Halloween parties! HAHA.

Anyways, back to the story… There was also the Robin Hood gang. I call them that because they ride horses and they wear tunics, carry lances and live in an ancient castle. Hmm, other than that, they are not as interesting as the other gang.

Ooh, did i also mention that the entire cast spoke in Irish and British accents? The Irish accents are especially cute.

Enough of random thoughts. If you love gore and detached heads flying around, this show is for you. One point to note, although the show is NC 16, many of the super-violent scenes have still been cut. So, you will encounter some breaks in the music and movement, which can be very irritating if you are the particular sort.

Seems like Doomsday’s not worth catching eh?

think kungfu panda might be a light-hearted show to enjoy… but dun really feel like spending money on watching animation…

i can see Jams with his new crocs!
lol…

Well, it was quite a pleasant surprise. I thought it would be worse… like those low-grade zombie shows. Turned out that the visuals are quite cool. Of cos, if we had more choices like Ironman and Batman, we’ll probably not watch Doomsday.

Ha, i’ll let you know whether Kungfu Panda is worth watching. I already know that i’ll be watching it. 100% confirm.

Yes, he’s been wearing that Crocs everywhere. *faints
